Proud to have played a very, small part in this success with a wonderful team….
CDIO Group has been recognised by the Collaboration Innovation Technology Forum (CITF) as the Best IT Team during the COVID-19 crisis.
The annual REAL IT Awards (RITA) created a new category this year to acknowledge that IT teams have played an invaluable role in smoothing the business response to COVID-19 and lockdown.
The category was designed to recognise the IT teams that went above and beyond to helping their organisation and customers in unprecedented conditions, and more than 50 organisations entered.
CDIO Group rapidly enabled upward of 60,000 colleagues to work from home. With eight weeks still to run on an inflight network upgrade the team managed to turn it around in only five days, successfully delivering the upgrade on the day the Prime Minister advised the nation to work from home.
We then went on to deliver IT solutions for three new schemes announced by the Chancellor to support many millions of UK citizens adversely affected by the lockdown. Working from kitchen tables and spare rooms, the team built and launched the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, Self Employed Income Support Scheme and Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme with all three launched ahead of schedule. At the time of submitting the Team’s entry for the award (June) the schemes had helped over 11.9 million individuals and businesses and paid out over £33.2 billion. This was all delivered on top of all the great work CDIO Group does day in, day out to keep one of the UK’s most complex IT estates running.
Joanna Poplawska, the CEO of CITF said,
“Congratulations on winning the title of ‘Best IT Team During Covid-19’ at the Real IT Awards 2020. As I am sure you are aware we had a number of fantastic submissions from organisations (in fact, the largest ever number of submissions for the Real IT Awards). For your team to have come away with the title is undoubtedly something to be truly proud of.”
